San Luis Obispo, CA

Idler’s Appliances, located in San Luis Obispo, is a 10,000 square foot retail outlet designed to accommodate appliance sales, a kitchen design center, an appliance service center, and corporate offices. The goal was to create a project that would be unique and readily identifiable as “Idler’s.” Other considerations were long-term maintenance and durability.

Split face concrete block was chosen for both the structural qualities and its use as a finish material. The roof was framed with pre-manufactured trusses to minimize columns and create the maximum clear floor area.
